Ahhh yes football season is inching closer and closer with the first exhibition games(big whoop)finishing up this weekend. To me, honestly, this only means one thing...fantasy football. And while monitoring your teams performance during the season is a roller coaster combo of both satisfaction and disappointment, there is nothing I look forward to more than taking part in the live fantasy draft.
At its core the draft is a game of strategy, skill, preparation, anticipation and luck. Kinda like chess except each selection is timed so decisiveness is imperative. Oh, and you have to wait four months to find out whether or not your moves worked. :/
So in this post, I won't waste your time(or mine) getting into predictions but instead will offer this important fantasy draft advice courtesy of NFL.com...Know how to pronounce your draft picks.

Beyond Repair, so sad...
Over the weekend SI.com reported that baseballs best player, Alex Rodriguez, tested positive for steroids back in 2003. Alex Rodriguez. The game's most naturally gifted and talented player. He was the guy who was supposed to be clean and be an example for doing it the right way. If the SI story is true, and after two full days still no word from AROD, the game will never recover. The Game
PITTSBURGH 27 ARIZONA 23.
7:08pm- Warner tried buying time. Looked like he fumbled, Pitt recovered. Thats the ball game.
7:07pm- OK. AZ used their final timeout. 15seconds left. Around 45 yards or so to go.
7:05pm- 22 seconds left. Completion to Fitz again. AZ is near midfield.
7:04pm- AZ has a ways to go. 77 yards in 29 seconds. I said it before defining moment time.
7:02pm- Big Ben put it where no defender could get to it and only Holmes could catch. Perfect pass by Roethlisberger. Perfect.
7:00pm- Caught for a TD!! WOW great catch by Santonio Holmes who kept his feet in...correction, tip toes in! 35 seconds left. Amazing.

6:59pm- This could be it. 43 sec left. This is John Taylor territory.
6:57pm-Wow. Pitt has just made a huge completion to Santonio Holmes. Pitt within the AZ 10 yards line. Looks like Pitt may pull this out after all. Great 4th quarter.
6:56pm- Pitt just needs to get in FG range. They are around mid-field. NOTE: NO Super Bowls have gone into overtime...Can Pitt come back?? Havent heard Hines Wards name called in a while.
6:55pm- Under 2 min to go. Pitt is moving the ball. Almost to mid field.
6:52pm- Ok, I think I lost my voice on that play to Fitzgerald. There are 6 of us watching here and we all stood up when AZ scored on that long pass play.
6:51pm- Now Pitt has the ball. They are shooting themselves in the foot now. Holding called. 2:24 left.

5:48pm- Yada yada..Pitt is about to score again. I'm cooking a turkey burger.
5:44pm- About to fall asleep. Something about this game is really boring.
5:35pm- AZ not doing much to start the third. Pitt will get the ball.
5:32pm- AZ with the ball to start the third quarter.
5:13pm- Halftime show going on and yeahh....not really feelin it. The Boss is too old for me I guess. Not the target demographic. Makes me want to sign off for the evening and leave. Painful. Rock on Bruce..rock..on.
4:55pm- After review the ruling on the field stands, Touchdown. Pitt goes into the locker room up 17-7. Huge. Halftime.
4:54pm- Ok they are reviewing to see if the player who intercepted was tackled before the goal line. Time has expired so its either a TD or the end of the half. Crazy crazy turn of events TBD.
4:51pm- WOW..Pitt just intercepted on the goal line and ran it back 100 yards for the TD. That my friends is the ball game. That is going to be hard to get over. Longest play in Super Bowl history!!!!!!
4:50pm- O M G
4:48pm- First completion to Larry F. AZ in the red zone. About a minute to go in the half.
4:46pm- AZ with a first down at the Pitt 23. Score is imminent...again.
4:42pm- AZ picked off Big Ben in Pitt territory. They are already in FG range! I think its Fitzgerald time. He has no catches and I can see them getting him the ball.
4:41pm- FIRST TURNOVER ALERT...
4:36pm- AZ has to punt. Good stop by Pitt after AZ has some nice momentum. Under 3 min. left in 2nd quarter.
4:32pm- Pitt punts. AZ with the ball in Pitt territory already.
4:30pm- I am trying on my 3d glasses. Its tough to type with these on. They barely fit my head.
4:28pm- Pitt with the ball. Doing their thing again.
4:21pm- Annnnd TD AZ. They wasted no time. Warner completion to someone named Ben Patrick. Ah, yes. First TD reception of the season for Patrick. 10-7 Pitt.
4:20pm- Damn. I am good. Two plays after I made the dink dunk comment Warner completes a deep pass to Boldin. AZ is knocking on the door.
4:19pm- Steve Breaston seems to be the key to this game. Warner has 3 completions to him alrready.
4:18pm- Another first down for AZ. Apparently their game plan is to dink and dunk. They are sticking to short passes for now...maybe to open up a big play a little later??
4:15pm- Arizona with a first down. Good for them. Small victories.
4:14pm- Start of 2nd quarter. Start of 2nd beer.
4:09pm- Pitt scored. 10-0. The mauling has begun. Only two series in and Pitt is in control of this game. They are dominating the Time of Possesion. I dont have the numbers but they are milking the clock. Arizona fans should be worried.
3:59pm- Pitt in the Red Zone. TD imminent.
3:56pm- Pitt still not having much of a problem moving the ball again. they are in AZ territory...almost in red zone.
3:47pm- Arizona now has the ball. First series coming up. Run. Pass. Run. Run. Run. Pass. Punt.
Ha. Ok I laughed out loud. Doritos commercial. Stupid but funny.
3:42pm- Ok, do over. Big Ben was down before crossing the goal line. No TD, FG instead. Arizona challenged and won. Good job AZ. 3-0 Pittsburgh.

3:31pm- Kickoff...Wow the kicker makes the tackle. Pitts on Offense.
3:29pm- Sideline reporter Alex Flanagan talks really slow.
3:28pm- Tails never fails. Except this year. Arizona wins the coin toss. I dont have the stat about teams winning the toss winning the Super Bowl but I'm sure the tv will show it.

3:26pm- For those wondering, beverage of choice today is Fat Tire. I have good taste, thank you.
3:22pm- OMG. GI JOE commercial.
3:19pm- As the beautiful Jennifer Hudson sings the National Anthem I will take this time to make my prediction. As much as I want Arizona to win and see one of my favorite players Kurt Warner ride off into the sunset with a win, I think Pitt will take this one, 13-7.
3:18pm- Sully! They just brought in the flight crew from the Hudson river crash. Solid. Feeling patriotic
3:15pm Time to break down the game within the game. Pretty simple really. Every time Kurt Warner's wife, Brenda, is shown, you must take a drink. This started the first time Warner took the Rams to the Super Bowl...aww dammit, gotta drink, brb

Pete on the Street
Some more light hearted stuff to get the 'box tumbling again...
We all know USC football is the cream of the crop. Leading that cream is none other than their affable head coach Pete Carroll. I'm starting to think this guy can do everything....stick around to the end, pretty funny.
